Job Description

The Data Protection and Threat Resistance team is responsible for making the operating systems used in Microsoft PCs, devices and the Azure cloud trustworthy. One of the fundamental building blocks we provide is software isolation. Isolation in an OS requires a wide range of capabilities - reduced privilege technologies like AppContainer work for untrusted user mode applications, but VM containers may require virtualized access to lower level hardware. In addition to this breadth of scenarios, solutions are needed for a variety of modern operating systems, running on hardware spanning from datacenter servers, to simple IOT boards.

DPTR is searching for an isolation architect to be the technical leader for the team. The engineer in this role will provide strategy, designs, and code to harden Microsoft platforms against malicious software and defend our users. She/he will also mentor and partner with other developers to secure hundreds of millions of users from attack. BS or above in Computer Science or related field

15+ years relevant industry experience

Deep security expertise in malware, isolation or platform hardening

Strong career history of C or C++ development

Proven track record shipping large products and in large organizations

This engineer will work in the Data Protection and Threat Resistance team and contribute across Microsoft's Platform Security. She/He will champion, architect, design and implement isolation and security features. In addition, the engineer will mentor developers elsewhere in the team and lead engineering initiatives across the division.
