Job Description

Principal Software Engineer

Workday's Financial Expenses Product enables workers to complete their spend authorizations and expense reports quickly and accurately and in turn empower the organization to manage T&E expenses.

Our Expenses product leverages the unified platform of Workday Financials and HCM to deliver process efficiencies for our customers across the entire organization.

We're looking for a talented individual to lead our team in both Functional and Technical aspects, and to scale our products for large enterprise customers who are faced with complex business and accounting requirements.

The candidate should combine his or her technical skills with their soft skills to influence a diverse group of stakeholders to deliver key results.

Responsibilities/Experience/Skills/Education:

BS degree in a computer related field with a minimum of 15 years experience with web application development experience emphasizing architecture and design.


* Proficiency in an object oriented language such as Java, C#, ...etc


* Experience designing/developing Expenses, Procurement, Accounts Payable or Financial software is highly desirable


* Must have Functional knowledge of Financial Accounting


* Metadata-driven definitional development experience as well as experience with XML, REST API, and integration technologies represents a significant advantage
