ROLE DESCRIPTION:

As a crucial part of SAP's total solution delivery strategy, SAP Digital Business Services (DBS) focuses on the overall success of customers' SAP solutions. One essential element in SAP's continued success is the services portfolio offered by SAP DBS and its certified partners, whereby consulting, implementation, and optimization services are delivered throughout the entire solution life cycle.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Principal Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to Head of Delivery, you will as Principal Project Manager act as trusted leader and focus on securing success of SAP program or projects at many times more than one project in parallel which can be on-premise, cloud or hybrid by nature. This requires a combination of strong expertise in project and program management, sound understanding of SAP solution implementations and mastering consulting business processes and functions.

You will be responsible for the overall management of the program/project throughout its lifecycle and you have the qualifications and business acumen to manage large scale, high risk, strategic program/projects that span organizational boundaries including multiple business units and service partners/vendors.

In the role of Principal Project Manager you will provide leadership to cross-functional teams responsible for delivering defined project outputs to time, budget and project quality criteria. The Principal Project Manager also ensures adherence to project management methodology practices, provides project manager mentoring, performs Project Management Reviews and reinforces the enterprise knowledge management through the communication of lessons learned and best practices development.

You possesses strong leadership, communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills combined with very strong customer orientation. The successful person in this role works with high level of drive, sound judgment and integrity, and has adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change.

While not occupied by project deliveries, the Principal Project Manager is expected to participate in bid work during the Bid Phase of the customer engagement in two ways, either separately or at the same time: 1. by managing and driving bids with a focus on stakeholder management, ensuring high quality deliverables, bid team coordination, reviews and approvals, and 2. by providing input into the proposal especially in delivery model (e.g. SAP Activate), project structure, organization, scoping, estimation, scheduling and risk assessment.

Requirements

* 5-7 years of project management experience in large scale, international, high risk, and/or strategic projects
* 3-5 years of supervisory or coaching experience in teambuilding and leading teams
* International implementation experience
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Management of remote resources (global delivery or distributed organization)
* Demonstrated expertise in creating and maintaining project deliverables such as, project charter, project management plan, status reports, project timesheets, communications plan, budget and schedule
* Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams within a formalized methodology
* Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope and quality while bring projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements.
* Experience from on premise, cloud and/or hybrid projects
* Strong communication (both written and verbal), decision making, and meeting facilitation skills; ability to utilize a combination of formal authority and persuasion skill sets.
* Local language and English: Fluent
* Required undergraduate university degree, preferably in commerce, engineering, information technologies or equivalent training and job experience

Desirables

* P&L of LoB in medium to large organization is desirable
* Leading in matrix organization and without formal authority a plus
* Certifications in Project/Program Management and/or agile project methodologies
