Who are we looking for?

The Principal IT Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, modifying, installing, and supporting the company's networks and computer systems. The Engineer will touch multiple systems critical for the maintenance of the business including: internet and intranet systems, network segments, LANs, WANs, UNIX based systems and VMWare/NSX. The right candidate for this role will be a Subject Matter Expert in network administration, with the ability to identify and implement innovative solutions and apply best practice to XIFIN's technical systems. They will be comfortable building relationships and partnering across the organization as they identify user needs, determine network and system requirements and deploy solutions across the organization. Additionally, they will be able to translate technical concepts for a non-technical audience. A candidate with strong leadership capabilities will be a plus, as our organization continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

* Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, internet, and intranet systems (CISCO, Big IP)
* Install, troubleshoot and maintain server and network hardware/software
* Evaluate and modify system performance, recommending upgrades and enhancements as needed
* Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
* Shell scripting -bas, tcsh, ksh
* Monitor networks and systems to ensure security and availability to specific users
* Ensure network connectivity throughout the company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
* Perform network address assignment
* Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration
* Assign configuration of authentication and authorizations of directory services
* Maintain network facilities in individual machines
* Perform regular operational tasks, including: network maintenance, file servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems, administer servers, routers, switches, firewalls, software deployment, security updates and patches

What qualifications are needed?

* CCNP or higher preferred
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration, with demonstrated skill level advancement
* Must have demonstrated skill in one or more of the following systems: VMWare, Solaris 11, Solaris Zones, Apache, Weblogic/Tomcat, and Zookeeper
* CISCO required
* Linux System Admin Certificate preferred
* BA/BS in Computer Science or relevant discipline preferred
* Equivalent combination of education and/or professional experience will be considered
