Responsibilities

* Lifecycle ownership of deployment/improvement/support for critical Alert, Alert Delivery, and Mobile databases in production cloud environment for private and public cloud
* Deployment of application upgrades, hot fixes, and changes to platform capacity for MSSQL databases
* Real-time rapid response, diagnosis, and mitigation for faults in MSSQL database
* MSSQL database optimizations
* Responsible for establishing end-to-end monitoring and alerting on SQL databases and to provide proactive notifications of possible issues production databases
* Initiate and lead scripting and automation to streamline system updates, metrics, reporting and upgrades
* Work with Cloud Operations team to resolve trouble tickets, developing and running scripts, and troubleshooting in a public and private cloud environment
* Continuous introspection and improvement of system reliability, performance, and efficiency through monitoring, metrics, data analysis, and incident review.
* Works closely with cloud engineering team on product deployment models, testing and escalations.
* Ensures the overall security of database information in transit and at rest
* Supports system On-Call periodically
* Works well independently and requires little or no supervision

Qualifications and Skills Required:

* Relevant/related experience. Minimum 8 years with a BS/BA or 7 years with a MS/MA
* Microsoft SQL Certification (MCSE)/Azure Certification or equivalent practical knowledge in MSSQL in a public cloud environment specifically Azure
* 5+ years Working knowledge of Windows and SQL Server 2008 and 2016 with practical knowledge of MSSQL Always-On and Log Shipping architectures or other replication and redundancy designs
* Understanding of VMware; VM management and provisioning
* 5+ years' experience supporting and troubleshooting application level systems, and performance issues in cloud in a multi-tiered architecture to support SQL optimization and performance tuning
* Excellent troubleshooting and analytics skills
* Understanding of Microsoft security concepts, and platform security certifications such as PCI/DSS and FedRamp
* Understanding of storage and its relationship to managing database efficiency
* Experience with SQL (APM), metrics and reporting
* Demonstrated technical experience in writing and developing scripts PowerShell, Python JQL, JSON, SQL or other applicable language
* Experience with building a data warehouse and data marts is a differentiator
* Practical understanding or certification in ITIL V2 or V3 Foundations
* Team player who works well in collaborative fast paced environment.
* US Citizen or Green Card holder
