Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

About the Opportunity
As a data infrastructure engineer at Moat, you would be responsible for developing and maintaining all of the systems that provide data storage services to internal teams.
You would be an integral part of the team that owns the data storage services themselves (such as databases, caches and other types of storage) as well as the monitoring and alerting tools that keep them running smoothly. These systems manage huge datasets that grow daily as they aggregate billions of events delivered by the Data Pipeline team.
You will strike a balance between writing code, deploying and maintaining services, making architecture decisions, mentoring and supporting other team members and reviewing their work. You will be responsible for delivering on engineering goals, ensuring reliability and quality in the products you release, and working cross-functionally with other engineering and product teams.
About You
* 8 years of engineering experience
* A track record of working on large engineering projects from conception to delivery
* Fluency at least one of Python (preferred), Go, C/C , Java
* 2 years of solid experience with one or more public clouds (AWS, Google, Azure, Digital Ocean) and applications that run on them
* Experience with deploying to Linux servers (Debian/Ubuntu preferred)
* Experience with at least one relational database (RDMS) and at least one "alternative storage" solution (such as Redis, Couchbase, MySQL cluster, Hadoop etc.)
* Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
