Pearson is constantly looking to add to our AMAZING team! We are actively searching for a highly analytical and detailed Principal Data Analyst Manager . You will be responsible for providing the required capabilities of turning business requirements into data models to support reporting and analytics efforts and strategic roadmap.
In this strategic role, the Principal Data Analyst Manager will develop fundamental new approaches to how our business generates meaning from data. This will include developing new environments, methodologies, processes, tools, and data governance structures to enable effective analysis and advanced modeling and statistical analysis against data sets. You will create specifications for reports & analysis based on business need and recommending strategic/tactical plans based on business data. In addition, you will analyze complex business problems and issues using data to provide insight to decision makers.
This job function may include the following disciplines: Data analysis & science, data architecture and solutions engineering, and visual design and analytics enablement.
The opportunity will be located at our Hoboken, NJ or Durham, NC office site.

Essential Responsibilities:
* Work on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
* Write functional detailed design specs as well as responding to requirement documents and system level test plans
* Interpret, design and create complex SQL statements to power reports and integrations, following coding standards and best practices to deliver cohesive, readable code
* Test and modify systems to ensure that they operate reliably
* Collaborate with team members to design, develop and support existing and new reports and analyses
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine requirements and find the best solutions
* Contribute to team-level best practices and standards for software development
* Adhere to data governance standards of the company and provide feedback to help improve process
* Responsible of logic documentation and version control
* Troubleshoot and solve problems for new and legacy code bases
* Pro-actively contribute to the development of new theories and methods which includes a comprehensive understanding of overall business and competitive environment as well as the mission and strategic direction of the organization.
* Sales Ops's Data steward and ambassador and POC between Biz and IT/Teach
* Willingness and ability to learn and research independently
Qualifications
Required Knowledge and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree with a preferred field of study in Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred; equivalent experience is required otherwise
* 5 year of strategic project management to identify business impact of proposed projects and designs Must have Tableau process flow knowledge and skills
* Solid understanding and experience with data architectures, security and privacy; exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives, without appreciable direction
* Broad knowledge of all aspects of data modeling and analytics strategies and methodologies; high level of proficiency in all necessary data intelligence and analytics processes, applications, and tools
* Experience with programing/scripting, statistical analysis, database, ETL and programming languages (MySQL)
* Knowledge of data warehouses
* Experience with system data integration
* Strength in common data intelligence practices & processes with an understanding of industry standards and tools in data intelligence and analytics
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Strong organizational and time management skills, consistently set and meet goals and deadlines!
