Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director, Quality Informatics and Analytics, this position provides advanced quality data and analytical support to UCLA Health System. The responsibilities include the development and management of databases that support efficient workflow and adhere to the specifications of regulatory agencies. The incumbent provides data support to data-driven quality improvement projects within General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, and Neurology. The incumbent prepares reports and Tableau dashboards, and presents findings to department leaders and teams. The incumbent also manages data-driven projects and assists with the identification of critical issues and development of solutions using the PDCA and Lean methodologies. The incumbent is required to work effectively as part of a team and work productively with the department staff while assuring the maximum use of technology to promote efficient work systems.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

BS degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, Business, or quantitative analysis related field or equivalent experience

Demonstrate proficiency in Tableau, SQL/Pytho/R, Excel, PowerPoint

Have experience in Clinical Data Analytics, Statistics, and Quality Measures

Have advanced analytical and quantitative analytical skills

Have strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

Have project management skills

Have a good understanding of the industry-specific issues, regulatory requirements, and current healthcare reform

Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced and creative environment

Have the ability to prioritize work and remain detail oriented

Have excellent oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED:

MBA or MS in quantitative analytical fields

3+ year experience in data management and data analysis

2+ year experience in healthcare industry

1+ year Tableau experience

1+ year Project management experience
