Job Description
Workday is growing its Competitive Intelligence team and we are looking for a Cloud ERP Competitive Intelligence Lead to focus on our unified system for finance, HR, and planning.
We are seeking a candidate with strong ERP and/or Financials solution experience to support our Field Sales teams by providing actionable intelligence on the key differentiators of Workday's competitors, in areas such as technology, functionality, deployment and adoption.
In this role, you will work closely with the leadership team in North America sales, presales, product marketing and sales operations groups to support our opportunities in the large enterprise space. As a key member of the global Competitive & Market Intelligence organization, you will also support special projects and research globally, and enable sales teams across EMEA & APJ in their Cloud ERP & Financials deal pursuits.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Gather intelligence that will improve Workday's competitive position and convert it into actionable sales strategies and prescribed sales motions
* Engage during the different stages of a deal cycle from the initial "plan" phase through "close" providing content, collateral, talking points, differentiators, and active coaching to the sales team
* Create presentations that focus on differentiators that are clearly articulated with supporting data, fact-based analysis, and a point of view
* Create and drive focused sales enablement sessions for the sales teams and participate in business review meetings and deal reviews as required
Requirements:
* 12+ years' experience in an ERP & Financials presales / business development / analyst role in the enterprise software industry with at least 2+ years' experience with a leading Cloud ERP and /or Finance solution offering
* 15+ years' experience in the enterprise software industry, with solid understanding of the enterprise software applications landscape
* Strong research and analytical skills - You will be seen as an expert in your area of responsibility (Cloud ERP & Financials) and will regularly be asked for recommendations or opinions
* Understanding of software deal dynamics and ability to think strategically about driving software opportunities forward
* Experience in engaging with senior executives and sales teams
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Background:
* Solid executive presentation skills
* Strong deliverable creation skills (typically in PowerPoint)
* "Get it done" mentality - willingness to roll up the sleeves in a fast-paced environment
* Drive and desire to take on additional responsibilities over time in a high growth environment
* Willingness to travel domestically (less than 20%)
* Competitive intelligence experience not required
