Job Description

Position Purpose:

Manage and support Food & Child Nutrition Services technology hardware and software systems. Work independently in monitoring, analyzing and troubleshooting department technology hardware, software systems including servers for production and disaster recovery sites.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in information systems, computer science, business or related field
* Five years related experience
* Experience managing Windows Server updates is a plus
* Experience managing Share Drives/Network Share is a plus
* Experience managing and administering Group Policies is a plus
* Experience with Powershell Scripting is a plus
* Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service, be a good listener and work well with a diverse group of customers and IT
* Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining and administering multiple Enterprise Applications
* Demonstrated excellent problem solving/analytical skills, knowledge of analytical tools and complex troubleshooting methods
* Demonstrated ability to work with SQL server database scripts for reporting and updates
* Demonstrated background with enterprise level software systems, windows OS, hardware and peripherals, server hardware and virtualization
* Demonstrated ability to interface with technical and non-technical district personnel
* Demonstrated experience in testing hardware and software
* Demonstrated experience with building and maintaining servers in a VMware environment
* Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, communication and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
* Demonstrated ability to administer web services on MS IIS, FS - Production/Test/Development Servers
* Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and take initiatives
* Must be familiar with administering user-based access reviews of Enterprise Applications
* Must have own vehicle to be used for site surveys, installation and trouble calls through the district
* Ability to work through ambiguous work situations
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to research and learn complex systems and develop a deep understanding and retention of the details

Basic Functions:

* Ensure food services systems, software and hardware are online and providing optimal services
* Monitor software applications, document and analyze problems or areas of concern
* Ensure trouble tickets are resolved within a timely manner as agreed on department SLA
* Manage information systems including Point of Sale and other food service related systems
* Provide technical leadership in the management and coordination of technical support based upon users requirements and available resources
* Establish support rapport with customers to achieve desired results
* Coordinate hardware maintenance and software upgrade processes
* Plan, coordinate, test and communicate changes, upgrades/maintenance schedules and new services with food services staff, insuring business operations will operate correctly in current and future environments
* Work closely with vendors to tune software and troubleshoot problems
* Maintain/renew vendor subscriptions/warranties
* Keep abreast of current and emerging technical and professional trends and developments affecting assigned software and recommend modifications that will improve performance
* Establish a practice of being a self-starter, able to be highly productive both working alone and in close collaboration with a team while juggling multiple projects
* Must document any and all work performed utilizing in-house ticketing system
* Occasionally required to lift and/or exert force of up to 10 lbs
* Perform all other duties as assigned
* All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate

Minimum Salary:

$57,262/annually

Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based professional employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the Executive Director - Human Capital Management.
