Project portfolio management position within Transamerica. Works directly with the PMO leadership team, TA project managers and leads PMO analysts to assure the integrity of the project portfolio and that project information is maintained and available for planning and forecasting.Job Description

Responsibilities

* Design, develop and maintain TA PMO project portfolio
* Responsible for the Design, development, maintenance and analysis of reporting at portfolio level and project level, and exception reporting of portfolio issues Maintain Time Sheet function utilized by TA staff
* Ensure the data required to support management decision making and forecasting is captured and reported efficiently
* Design, Development, Maintenance and administration of TA PMO project management toolsets (eg MS Project 2010)
* Support TA PMO Management to define and develop TA PMO Processes and methodology
* Support Project management staff to consistently apply TA Project standards and methodology, including audit activities
* Maintain a strong understanding of all TA services, operational processes and procedures
* Develop relationships and expertise within the divisions to provide continued value-add services
* Develop opportunities to make efficiencies or improvements and recommend to the PMO leadership team
* Mentoring and coaching of portfolio staff to achieve PMO goals
* May have supervisory responsibility over employees

Qualifications

* 8-10 years of related work experience
* University or Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
* Advanced experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio)
* Working knowledge of Project Management methodologies and principles (eg Prince2, PMP, PMBOK)
* Advanced experience in the use and administration of formal Project Management (MS Project 2010) and Project Portfolio management Tools
* Strong analytical and organizational skills (planning, prioritizing) are critical to this position
* Communication skills (written, verbal, listening) , as is the ability to successfully adapt to
* diverse people and situations, manage conflict, proactively resolve issues, and complete assignments on time.
* Good understanding of the insurance and financial services industry

Preferred Qualifications

* Basic understanding of SQL Reporting
* Strong understanding of Relational Database Management principles
* Advanced level understanding of SharePoint Development
* Experience with lean portfolio management concepts and methods

Working Conditions

* Office based
* May require travel
* May require flexible hours to accommodate global project teams
