We are seeking an accomplished, creative, self-motivated and driven software engineer to help build and enhance the infrastructure tooling we need; and to identify, design, and lead the innovations we have yet to devise. You will have a strong foundation in Golang and Python, experience building scalable services, and a proven understanding of the low-level aspects of Linux/UNIX based operating systems. This role will work alongside and mentor other SREs, and have a tangible impact on the future analytics infrastructure platform at Apple.

* You have experience designing and building highly scalable services with a focus on performance - You have an expert knowledge of Golang along with one or more programming languages, such as Python, or Java - Solid Linux/UNIX OS and networking fundamentals - You have effective communication and presentation skills - 5+ years professional experience in software engineering and Linux/UNIX

The Hadoop SRE team supports and maintains some of the most critical production analytics infrastructure at Apple, including well known services such as iTunes, iCloud, Apple Maps, and more. Our global platform supports the big data infrastructure with millions of CPUs, exabytes of storage, petabytes of memory, and millions of production users. We operate in layers 1 through 7 with a focus on reliability and performance, using both open source and homegrown tools and applications. Our team has the rare opportunity to own and deliver some of the world's largest-scale cloud services.

BS degree in computer science or equivalent field with 5+ years or MS degree with 3+ years experience, or equivalent.
