Position Description:

Are you an experienced technical lead, with strong technical trouble-shooting skills and prior experience in the utility industry who is looking to make a change or grow your career? CGI has an opportunity for an experienced Outage Management System (OMS) Technical Consultant to join our team in Los Angeles area.

This is an exciting opportunity to work full-time in a fast-paced, client environment with the operational technology systems that manage and support one of the largest utility companies in the United States. Your future duties and responsibilities:

As our OMS Technical Consultant, you will work onsite, day-to-day with our clients, supporting them operationally and technically, with their outage management system built upon CGI's Pragma Suite of Products. In this capacity, you will:

* Lead and participate in technical troubleshooting by performing break-fix, root-cause, and code-level analysis
* Evaluate and investigate technical and operational issues that may negatively affect the OMS
* Participate in the design, development, testing and implementation of enhancements and software fixes resulting from trouble tickets and operational requests
* Participate in software implementation and deployment activities.
* Test and Evaluate new enhancements and code fixes in pre-production technical environments.
* Work closely and in harmony with client's Operations and Dispatch Centers to help ensure operational efficiencies and system stability.
* Aid in developing business and technological requirements and technical or functional designs in support of functional and operational enhancement requests.
* Serve as a technical and functional ambassador to the client.
* Provide technical, procedural, and functional support for the OMS

Additional duties may include:

* Support the application help desk responding to end-user calls
* Create test scripts based on business requirements
* Perform system testing using test scripts to ensure requirements are met
* Execute regression testing scripts
* Write system documentation, including developer guides, design specifications, and topic papers
* Facilitate team and client meetings effectively to gather and document requirements, design system enhancements, drive user feedback, and conduct quality assurance testing through completion of project
* Aid in the preparation of operational reporting activities

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

The position requires a unique blend of technical consultant and utility operational experience to be ultimately successful. Previous experience with any of the following Utility Operational Technologies is extremely beneficial:

* Strong understanding of technical support best practices including: technical troubleshooting, coding best practices, testing, implementation, business requirements gathering, and project management
* Strong understanding of full-lifecycle software development
* Software development or lead software development experience.
* You have worked with any of the following systems within the utility industry:

o SCADA, Energy Management Systems (EMS), Distribution Management Systems (DMS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS) or Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

* You have familiarity and/or proficiency with leading SCADA, EMS, DMS, OMS and GIS vendor products including CGI Pragma CAD and CGI Pragma LINES

Successful candidates will possess the following minimum qualifications:

* 5-8 years in a technical support or technical lead role with experience in operational and production support
* 5-8 years of software development experience with Microsoft Technologies such as .Net and MS SQL Server
* 3-8 years of prior power and utility experience and strong understanding of the common issues facing clients in this sector
* Prior experience with any of the following power and utility systems:

o SCADA, Energy Management Systems (EMS), Distribution Management Systems (DMS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS) or Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

You should also possess:

* Strong client facing presence
* Very strong oral and written communication skills
* Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
* Great attention to detail and follow through
* Ability to prioritize effectively, multitask, and manage time appropriately
* Clear communication skills
* High level of interpersonal skills and customer service oriented experience and proficiency
