* Support optical design and analysis of optical systems, mostly high performance remote sensing applications. * Support optical modeling to perform analysis of optical systems including MTF, Encircled Energy, Transmitted WFE over varying environments, Polarization, or other similar activities * Execute alignment plans for complex telescope systems based on system optical prescription and requirements * Support sensitivity analysis to quantify WFE as a function of component mis-alignments * Define alignment/test tooling including range/resolution requirements for component adjustment mechanisms for complex telescope systems and 100th wave optical element metrology * Define data acquisition and processing requirements for system alignment and component metrology tasks * Perform data analysis/processing using industry standard software (Zemax, 4Sight, Code V, Matlab etc.) * Support an interdisciplinary team of optical, mechanical, electrical in the implantation and execution of the system alignment and performance verification of high quality telescopes
* M.S. in Optical Engineering, Physics, Astronomy or related field
* 1+ years of experience with Zemax Optical Design Software or Code V Optical Design Software * Experience with MATLAB * Experience with optical metrology List of preferred skills (grouped together) * Experience with Fred Optical Engineering Software * Experience in Optical alignment * Experience with LIDAR systems or other Laser applications List of competencies: * Good verbal communication skills * Good written communication skills * Proven problem solving skills * Proven ability to work in a team environment * Ability to drive tasks to closure U
