Millennium Engineering and Integration Company (MEI) is seeking an Operations Integration Systems Engineer for a full-time position supporting systems engineering and integration efforts at the Remote Sensing Systems Directorate, Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC/RS), at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) in El Segundo, CA. This work is at a location in Aurora, CO.

This individual will be a Systems Engineer with experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Space-Based systems. Candidate will provide SE&I support to the SBIRS, Future Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Environmental Monitoring Enterprise programs in support of the Space and Missile Systems Center Remote Sensing Directorate (SMC/RS). The candidate will support enterprise integration activities for SMC/RS space, ground, operations, logistics, and sustainment elements to identify and support the management of risks, issues, and interdependencies.

Key Responsibilities

* Support system engineering and integration planning for SMC/RS Enterprise space, ground, hardware, software, fixed site and mobile systems
* Assist with management of operational transition and fielding of the RS Enterprise space and ground system capabilities
* Supporting and provide technical oversight to the SBIRS Integration Board (SIB) and associated Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) to ensure the integrity of modifications and upgrades to the Program of Record (PoR)
* Coordinate and execute integration activities including hardware, software, cybersecurity and network upgrades
* Conduct planning and scheduling analyses to manage risk and insure proper levels of margin are incorporated
* Interact with the prime contractor and government project engineers to ensure system requirements are coordinated, planned and scheduled for implementation
* Identify operational and technical issues, evaluating solutions and advising Government customer on possible Courses of Action (COAs)
* Support integration activities including hardware, software, cybersecurity and network upgrades

Desired

* Active TS/SCI clearance
* BS in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical, Communications Engineering (technical), Math, Physics, or similar
* System engineering experience with DoD/USAF test processes and documentation
* Demonstrated experience in multi-faceted test project teams, to include oversight of scheduling
* Experience with ground systems, such as terminals and networks
* Knowledge of development lifecycle, project integration, schedule analysis and stakeholder processes
* Demonstrated experience in multi-faceted test project teams, to include oversight of scheduling
* Knowledge of satellite test methodologies, test scripting, and test data collection and analysis
* Experience with SMC, USAF, and DoD acquisition and Systems Engineering processes
* Thorough knowledge of hardware and software development lifecycles and test reporting CDRL development process.
* Experience with databases and Sharepoint



Required

* TS clearance eligible for SCI
* Experience with space systems, ground and space system acquisition, and systems engineering experience.
* Strong demonstrated systems engineering, with requirements and interface management, risk management, change boards and change board environment experience
* Experience managing operational transitions and fielding of complex satellite systems
* Experience with the acquisition and deployment of space, OPIR and ground systems
* Experience developing transition to operations plans, supporting design reviews and engineering boards
* Demonstrated experience working with Air Force/DoD customers in Operations and Sustainment environments
* Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings
