Position: Operational Transformation Business Analyst

Location: Irvine, Ca / Dubai, UAE

FLSA Classification: Exempt

SUMMARY

Operations Transformation Business Analyst (OT BA) is a new role within Agility's Global Integrated Logistics (GIL) Division to drive software development improvements by taking on business analysis responsibilities on one of our multiple Agile teams. These Agile teams are working with each other, senior management, internal stakeholders, and our in-house development center in the delivery of our new Ops Transactional Platform, as well the delivery of other key digitization programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Translating Business Needs: Help design the future business processes, providing "next level" details, and turning them into business requirements/user stories, based upon business priorities and representing their interests accordingly. Collaborates with BAs from other Agile teams, as well as members of other cross-functional orgs, in the coordinating of specifications for the IT team to ensure the system is being developed in an integrated fashion.
* Technical - Business Liaison: Bridge the communication gap between business interests and technical decisions when working with business stakeholders and senior management. Assist in the development, and communication of, the software's vision, as well as a roadmap of required features.
* Development Arbitrator: Works with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Implementation team members to balance development priorities given needs of the business and feedback from end users. Supports management of Product Backlog, Sprints, Epics using Scrum and Agile practices.
* Testing and System Validation: Conducts hands-on system testing as part of our Agile efforts to ensure business requirements/user stories success criteria are met to fulfill overall goal of delivering a shippable product with each software release.
* Agile and DevOps Advocate: Use Agile methodologies to advance software (support the product's requirements backlog, engage in Sprint/Epic planning activities, work with Product Owner to determine release timelines) and support advancement of DevOps practices and procedures into our software development efforts.
* Demos and Showcases: Host/Facilitate software review - Participates in frequent software review sessions (e.g. monthly) to make sure the software operates per agreed requirements

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

* 5-10 years of experience in software development, with an emphasis on complex transactional systems.
* Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent required; MBA/Masters in the same/equivalent preferred
* Working knowledge of and participation in large-scale Agile initiatives using frameworks such as SAFe is preferred, but not essential.
* Strong process orientation and analytical skills- ability to analyze and document requirements
* Proficient in MS Office, Project, Visio, Balsamiq, Jira/Trello

Minimum travel of up to 25% to attend workshops and various meetings.

WORK HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT

Normal working hours for this position will be defined. However, the position will require beyond normal working hours to support business needs due to team locations in different time zones.
