This position involves working directly with customers or Emerson Technical Support and development engineers on technical solutions for Emerson applications. This position will be expected to increase the skillset of the Product Engineering team in supporting Network Communications, Cyber Security and Infrastructure related applications within Emerson's portfolio of products and solutions. The ideal candidate should possess a strong skillset in Networking and Security related technologies.

This position collaborates and works cohesively with the Technology and Marketing teams regarding future requirements of Emerson applications based on investigation of field issues. This position will also be responsible for training other engineers in the areas of Communications, Network Infrastructure and Cyber Security.

The candidate will work not only in a support role, but also participate in the expanding Performance Service business, i.e. billable services. Performance Service activities will include tasks such as technical input to proposals, custom engineering design/reviews, system upgrades, and consultative site assignments.This position collaborates and works cohesively with the Technology and Marketing teams regarding future requirements of Emerson applications based on investigation of field issues. Responsibilities & Skills:

* Provide support to Global Service Center via Support Management System
* Work directly with end users resolving complex system issues on mission critical networks & industrial processes
* Create and Review Knowledge Based Articles
* Request, test and ownership of product patches
* Lead and/or assist with Performance Service projects
* Lead and/or assist with internal training, development and delivery
* Be a mentor to the Global Support Center and others
* Implement system enhancements that will improve the reliability of networks, elevate security, and increase network performance
* Remain current in awareness of developing technology trends, security weaknesses/vulnerabilities, and innovations in networking systems and capabilities
* High degree of integrity, initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision
* Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences. Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals
* Passion for delivering the best user experience for both internal and external customers
* Ability to effectively respond to dynamically changing work environment and to positively influence business outcomes

Additional Information:

* Must be able and willing to travel, approximately 25%

Minimum Qualifications:

* BS in Engineering or Computer Science and 6 years of experience or a Master's in Engineering or Computer Science and 5 years of experience; OR Bachelor's in an Information Technology related degree Degree and 8 years of experience or a Master's degree in an Information Technology related degree and 7 years of experience
* A minimum of five years' experience leading the design and implementation of network & security solutions in complex enterprise environments. Experience with industrial or manufacturing networks is desired and a plus
* Experience with Networking & Security fundamentals, principles, and concepts - design, maintenance, optimization and troubleshooting
* Experience with Ethernet Standard IEEE802.3, Ethernet Best Practices, TCPIP Protocol Suite, MS Operating Systems, Network Switches, Routers, and Firewalls
* Experience in defining and evaluating functional requirements and specifications for network infrastructure and security systems
* Experience with Network Packet Trace evaluations and diagnosis
* Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and GPO Security Policies
* Experience with SNMP and Syslog applications
* Experience with concepts and principles of IDS and IPS systems
* Experience with Virtualization Technologies, emphasis on MS Hyper-V
* Experience with Backup and Recovery applications
* Experience with Symantec AV, McAfee AV, Whitelisting, McAfee EPO & SIEM
* Experience and familiarity with various programming and scripting languages; VBScript, PowerShell, .NET
* Working knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as NIST

Preferred Qualifications:

The candidate meets the minimum qualifications and is a Subject Matter Expert in each discipline.

* Experience with Industrial Distributed Control Systems and/or Safety (SIS) Systems. Experience with Emerson's DeltaV/SIS system is highly desired
* Experience with concepts and principles of ModbusRTU, ModbusTCP, Modbus Gateways, Ethernet/IP, IEC61850 applications for Industrial and Manufacturing Networks. Lead design, deployment and troubleshooting
* Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers, PLC's, integrating with Industrial or Manufacturing Networks
* Experience with COM/DCOM services. Experience relating to Ole for Process
* Control, OPC, OPCUA is desired and a plus
* Experience or working knowledge of ISA/IEC 62443
* Industry certifications related to information security is a plus. i.e. CISSP, CCNA, CISM, GSEC
