What you'll be doing...

This position is for the Wireless Edge Network Support team (former DSO). This is a position on a high visibility team responsible for preventing and resolving network outages on the Verizon Wireless network. Responsibility ranges from short term break/fix outages to longer term projects to improve network resiliency including:

* Troubleshoot network issues including app issues masquerading as network issues.
* Utilize network troubleshooting tools to isolate network issues across a large multi-site network.
* Lead projects across multiple working groups to improve network reliability.
* Partner with network design teams to update design based on flaws, bugs or improving network performance.
* Vendor management and accountability.
* Handle multiple wireless networks such as the MPLS core, EDN, Enterprise, WDN, WSN, IT, WVN, FES, SDN Spine/Leaf Fabrics, Intelligent Edge, NEC IP environment network operations and support.
* Manage small to large issues and outages, isolating problems to specific devices and segments even when the path to resolution is not clear.
* This position requires you to be part of an on-call rotation
* This position may be for overnight support.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

* Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience.
* Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
* Experience in coding network automation and/or remediation.
* Knowledge of routers, switches, Firewalls, load balancers and how they are used to create end-to-end connectivity.
* Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and F5 devices.
* Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.
* Experience Github with python coding.
* Service provider experience.
* Knowledge of continuous integration and SDLC/DevOps concepts.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability thrive in a dynamic environment and high visibility situations.
* Ability to triage and prioritize network outages.
* Strong technical analytical skills.
