Job Description

Implement & Support all (Corporate & Production) data/wireless networks for Technicolor Globally including LAN, MAN,WAN, WLAN & Firewalls (mainly around Juniper platform -EX/QFX/SRX/MX). Participate in all aspects of IP Network Engineering functions relating to Technicolor worldwide network to comply with Technicolor policies & standards. Contribute to the design/engineering of data network solutions. Ideal candidate is a Senior Network Engineer with the ability, willingness & flexibility to balance hands-on operations, work with project management and pre-sales, who has a team spirit and who can mentor junior engineers / contractors:

Essential Functions

PROJECTS

* Translate the customer needs into feasible solutions and follow-up plan
* Ability to collect requirements (functional, technical) and understand global contexts and related constraints
* Turn conceptual ideas into complete network designs
* Analyze different options from a service, technical and financial standpoint (cost analysis)
* Assist in the solutions selection process (RFP/RFQs writing and analysis of answers / Service-Technical parts)
* Scope & lead (technically hands-on) the planning and execution of data telecom projects and Technology migrations
* Ensure project deliverables match client expectations by proactively informing manager of progress/obstacles.
* Take a leadership role and provide technical direction on Internet & addressing practices, VPNs, Firewalls, Proxies, IDS/IPS, etc.
* Help develop & implement standards and best practices.
* Provide guidance, mentoring, and leadership to other members of technical staff.

OPERATIONS

Configuration

* Manage the IP addressing plan for Technicolor and related change in routers configuration.
* Produce device configurations from detailed design documents as per the client's standards (Switches & Routers).
* Perform capacity planning and monitoring/resolution of alerts.

Change Management

* Participate in the Change Management Process, Design Reviews, and other client interactions to ensure a high-degree of client satisfaction.

Support / Troubleshooting

* Resolve complex network issues/outages & communicate root-cause/remediation plan.
* Follow up escalation & contribute to monthly QoS meetings with vendors.
* Provide telecom operational support if escalated to the global team for the Americas region.

Required Experience

Required Education

* Masters or Bachelor's degree or relevant qualifications in networking / telecoms/IT.
* Network Certification --Juniper/CISCO/ALCATEL network products (JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-ENT, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE and/or Alcatel equivalent). Any Aruba WLAN is desired.

Technical Skills

* MUST have very strong hands-on knowledge and at least 5 years' experience in networking: demonstrate knowledge of Layer 3 Switching, TCP/IP, IP routing (BGP/OSPF , ISIS), of networking standards (ANSI, IETF, ISO, ITU-T, IEEE, NIST,), understanding of peering, MPLS , Metro-Ethernet. WLAN experience desirable.
* Proven track record of project managing/plan/design/config/implementation of regional/global networks.
* Solid experience in troubleshooting issues, including relationship with carriers/vendors/internal customers.
* Practical knowledge of hardware/software network security platforms and VPN's. - Operational knowledge of CISCO, Juniper and ALCATEL devices.
* Hands-on experience with routing/switching infrastructures, transport technology, network protocols.
* Nice to have knowledge of Centralized IPT/WVoIP/Mobile data.
* Not essential but nice to have knowledge of Extreme/Bluecoat/Nokia checkpoint products.

* Strong ability to communicate technical subjects/ network requirements to non-technical audiences.

* Capable of writing & presenting documents/presentations (English) to help make decisions.

Languages

* Ability to read, write and speak English
* Bilingual preferred

Working Hours

* Ability to be "on call" during week days and out of hours/weekends.

Travel

* International business trips may be required.
