About The Role

We are looking for a Network Engineer to design, maintain and support functional and secure networks. In this role, you must have excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture. If you're also passionate about networking, security and data protection, we'd like to meet you.

Responsibilities

* Perform as a Networking Subject Matter Expert and provide technical expertise to peers, management, and other Technology teams
* Design, deploy and maintain firewall deployments
* Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
* Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
* Mentor team members on technical issues
* Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
* Communicate with users when needed
* Maintain complete technical documentation
* Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
* Be available for after hours network support escalations as part of the network team Bi-Monthly on Call rotation

Required Experience

* 5+ years of industry-related experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator
* Solid background in network administration and architecture
* In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
* Familiarity with access control models and network security (ISE)
* Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools)
* Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS)
* Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP)
* Extensive experience designing and building highly available datacenter and wide area networks
* Familiarity with overlay networking, including SD-WAN, VPN and Cisco AC
* Ability to perform network packet analysis using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump, from layer 1 to layer 7
* Experience with network monitoring for performance, scale and integrity
* Familiarity with Virtualization and Cloud platforms such as VMware and AWS
* Experience with load balancing technologies: F5, A10, HAProxy, or others
* Strong troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work independently
