Network Engineer - 5 month contract to hire -$64/hr.

Location: Richardson, TX

Length: 5-month contract to hire

Pay: $60 - $64/hr.

Responsibilities:

* Create and update existing documentation for work performed.
* Troubleshoots and resolves system service failures by identifying and analyzing the situation and provides corrective actions.
* Develops, installs, and tests new network hardware and software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.
* Monitors systems activities and fine tunes system parameters and configuration to optimize performance and ensure security of systems.
* Provides senior level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding systems architecture.
* Approves system designs and functions as a project lead as required.
* Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions.

Qualifications:

* Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent years' (5+) experience as a Network Engineer.
* Advanced working knowledge and experience with NAC (Network Access Controllers) as well as routing/switching protocols (Cisco ASR/ISR routers, Nexus 9K, 7K, 5K and 2K, Cisco Catalyst 3750 and 3850 stack switches).
* Candidate will also participate in day-to-day functions that include firewalls requests and F5 VIP creations.
* Advanced working knowledge and experience with network security (ASA Firewalls, Palo Alto Firewalls, IPSec, SSL VPN, URL Filtering/Layer 7 policies, NAC monitoring).
* Advanced working knowledge of network monitoring protocols and/or systems (TAPs, SNMP, Syslog, Netflow, IP SLA , etc).
* Working knowledge of application load balancing (F5 LTM, GTM, APM and ASM). Working knowledge of Cisco Wireless technologies.
