Title Network Engineer Job Reference 19-0177 Post Date 7/9/2019 City/Location Washington DC State VA Point of Hire Seattle, WA Company DDATA - DesignDATA Reports To Project Directors Type of Position Regular Full-Time FLSA Status Exempt Description JOB SUMMARY: Works mostly independently and has oversight of customer network communications by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Monitors and reviews network activity for customer LAN and WAN traffic.
* Manages networking hardware.
* Troubleshoots phone system, VoIP issues.
* Verifies third-party applications are working as intended.
* Responsible for escalation support for on-site team for network related issues.
* Provides consulting to customers regarding network design and implementation.
* Provides vendor management as needed.
* Serves as a member of internal working groups.

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
* Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
* To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, web browser, ConnectWise ticketing, network communications management, and Kaseya.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The individual will be subject to sedentary work with the majority of hours in a professional office environment, and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands. The individual is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal. Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects (1-40 lbs.) are required.
