Network Architect - Data Center

As a Network Architect, you will set strategic direction for the development of network architecture in support of NYP-IT and NYP-wide IT objectives. You will work closely with the other members of the Network team and Network Operations Managers to install, configure, operate, and maintain the core, distribution, access, WAN and edge layer routers and switches, Next-Gen Firewalls, and Application/ServerLoad Balancers at NYP's campuses and data centers. You will assist in creating a technology roadmap, manage life cycle capabilities around existing implementations, document and roll out standards, and create and maintain a standards library. The Network Architect reports to the Director of Core Resources, and acts as a matrix manager for the Network Engineers.

Preferred Criteria

* Master's Degree in a relevant field
* CCNP or Higher
* Experience in the healthcare industry
* Knowledge and experience with VMware (Design, Build, Operate)
* Knowledge of Large Scale Storage Area Network Systems (Design, Build, Operate) - EMC, Flash, NetApp
* Knowledge of Microsoft files systems, operating systems, Wintel systems

Required Criteria

* BSCS/EE or equivalent work experience required
* Minimum 6-8 years' work experience in a network engineering role
* Thorough working knowledge of OSI model and the interaction between the layers
* Advanced expertise with TCP/IP networking concepts. Knowledge of authentication protocols (including RADIUS and LDAP), and Network Management Systems (EMS/NMS)
* CCNP-level mastery of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, STP, TCP, UDP, NAT, HSRP/VRRP, VRF, QoS, Ethernet, Interand Intra-domain multicast
* Experience working with Cisco, Arista, and HP networking product as well as solid experience with packet tracing/sniffing tools
* Knowledge of authentication protocols (including RADIUS and LDAP), and Network Management Systems (EMS/NMS)
* Advanced expertise with TCP/IP networking concepts
* Knowledge of authentication protocols (including RADIUS and LDAP), and Network Management Systems (EMS/NMS)
* Experience working with Cisco, Arista, and HP networking product as well as solid experience with packet tracing/sniffing tools
* Hardware platforms: Cisco 6500, 4500, 3850, Arista 7xxx series multi-layer switches, and Cisco 2800, 2900, 3800, 3900, ASR1K series routers
* Palo Alto NGFW (all models) design and support experience
* Recognized expertise in a broad range of technical specialties, including LAN/WAN, Ethernet, voice and wireless technologies. In-depth understanding of industry standards and practices
