POSITION SUMMARY:

Network Architect maintains current working knowledge of industry best of breed solutions for enterprise-level network and related solutions. Leads design and implementation efforts for corporate and remote network infrastructure, including the retail and global networks. Participates as a leading member of the IT Architecture Committee. Develops high-level and detailed documentation, including architectural and procedural documents. Implements and supports a variety of network and related infrastructure systems. Provides top-level technical solution support. Provides direct support for departmental leadership activities. Provides systems expertise and technical support requiring in-depth understanding in a breadth of technologies and disciplines. Work in on call rotation with other engineers and architects.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Architectural design and documentation of the company's global network infrastructure, including corporate, retail, and remote infrastructure.
* Participates as a leading member of the IT Architecture Committee to help design scalable, enterprise-level solutions for networks, operating systems, databases, and applications.
* Implements and supports a variety of network and related infrastructure systems.
* Provides top-level technical solution support.
* Provides direct support for departmental leadership activities.
* Manages and supports a breadth of network technologies, including routers, firewalls, wireless solutions, multicast solutions, WAN technologies, etc.
* Ensures IT Infrastructure processes, procedures and technology support the protection of IT assets from unauthorized access.
* Manages in-scope networks and systems in accordance with the formal change management procedures and processes.
* Provide support for basic budgeting and procurement processes.
* Provides timely status reports regarding projects and activities.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

* 10 to 15 years IT/Networking experience required, with three to five years of experience architecting and engineering enterprise-level network infrastructure.
* Three to five years' experience participating in formal, large, and complex projects.
* Architectural design and documentation of the company's global network infrastructure, including corporate, retail, and remote infrastructure.
* Participates as a leading member of the IT Architecture Committee to help design scalable, enterprise-level solutions for networks, operating systems, databases, and applications.
* Implements and supports a variety of network and related infrastructure systems.
* Provides top-level technical solution support.
* Provides direct support for departmental leadership activities.
* Manages and supports a breadth of network technologies, including routers, firewalls, wireless solutions, multicast solutions, WAN technologies, etc.
* Ensures IT Infrastructure processes, procedures and technology support the protection of IT assets from unauthorized access.
* Manages in-scope networks and systems in accordance with the formal change management procedures and processes.
* Provide support for basic budgeting and procurement processes.
* Provides timely status reports regarding projects and activities.
* Expert-level understanding of network architecture and solutions, with a focus on Cisco solutions
* Very strong written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
* Ability to maintain current working knowledge of related hardware, software, solutions, and processes
* Ability to work with third party contractors and consultants
* Ability to function as the highest point of escalation for network-related issues
* Able to be a team player and to be customer-service focused
* Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Information technology or related fields
* Experience with coordinating internal and external auditing efforts in order to meet compliance requirements for network security related procedures, processes and activities.
* Experience with overseeing basic budgeting and procurement processes.
* Advanced knowledge of the following technologies: Nexus, VPC, VSS, OSPF, BGP, RIP, DMVPN, IPSLA, MPLS, SIP, IOS, IOS-XE, F5, Multicast/PIM, VRF, IPSEC on IOS-XE, PFR, WCCP, WAAS, CUBE, and UCS required. Cisco CCIE certification strongly preferred.
