Overview

The Network Administrator will provide technical expertise to support networks and systems needed in day to day operations. This includes tasks such as: install, configure, and support of LANs and WANs. The Network Administrator will also conceive, design, test, and implement improvements to the information systems infrastructure.

Responsibilities

* Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols (dynamic and static)
* Ability to analyze and determine if new products/services are safe for the environment based on PCI and SOx compliance standards.
* Ability to configure, secure and monitor the various devices/series of devices listed below:
* Cisco 2900/4300 series router
* Cisco 2900/3500/3700 switches (layer 2 and layer 3)
* Cisco ASA Firewalls with Firepower modules, 5506-X, 5508-X and 5525-X


* Ability to configure new policies while managing existing ones within the Cisco Firepower Management console, setup new ASA's and install them into an environment with the Cisco FMC and Cisco Security Suite from their EA platform.
* Familiar with the Cisco Security Suite of products (Umbrella, ISE, AMP, etc.)
* Ability to activate new circuits (convert from a single or bonded-T1 to an ethernet circuit with CenturyLink and remote boots on the ground)
* Maintains computing environment by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance. Some after hours (post 5:00pm, weekend) work may be needed from time to time.
* Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls
* Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, and by troubleshooting and resolving network problems
* Manages projects with internal and external resources, and completing project on time, on budget, and as promised
* Escalates problems to vendors, and working with them to achieve resolutions
* Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation
* Maintains documentation
* Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements
* Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
* Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
* Orders, configures, and coordinates the install of network circuits and phone lines
* Supports SOX and PCI compliance and internal audit tasks
* Understands and abides by change control practices
* Supports Tier 2 of network issues in production, testing, and development environments
* Gathers data pertaining to project needs, and uses the information to identify,predict, interpret, and evaluate network and network component requirements
* Provides outstanding customer service to our employees, stores, and customers
* Schedules, maintains, and participates in the on-call rotation, respond to all messages sent by Natural Grocers staff in a timely manner, including off hours and vacations
* Other duties as assigned
* Writes user, process, and procedure documentation as required

Qualifications

* Requires a four-year college degree or equivalent education and experience combined
* 4 years Cisco Administrator for a mid-size enterprise (500+ employees, multiple domains, 20+ locations, 4+ IT/IS team members)
* 5 years of experience administering Cisco centric network environment (ASA, router, and switch configurations)
* 5 years of experience administering Cisco firewalls and ASA devices
* 3 years of experience administering IDS/IPS
* Experience administering What's Up Gold desired
* Possession of a Cisco network administration certificate (ie. CCNA, CCIE)
* Support experience with Cisco networking solutions, such as: ASA, VPN, and router/switch configuration, and Wireless LAN controller management
* Strong project management and communications skills, consistently hitting deadlines, staying within budgets, and achieving all project deliverables
* Strong network troubleshooting and problem solving skills
* Experience supporting large-scale production (network and server) environments
* Scripting experience for task automation
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with hardware maintenance and lifecycle
* Cross-training other team members within the department

* Some travel may be required
