Are you an ERCOT Employee? If so please log in to Workday to apply. JOB PURPOSE Install, configure, and support an enterprise local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN). JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ERCOT's network systems including support of LAN/WAN, firewall and wireless components. Utilizes network monitoring systems to monitor utilization and reliability of infrastructure. Provides Level 3 support. Essential Job Duties and Tasks Management and maintenance of the ERCOT's network infrastructure. Familiar with how to use Panorama to do firewall rules and firewall troubleshooting Works with internal and external customers to troubleshoot production issues Utilize and support ERCOT's extensive monitoring infrastructure Support of ERCOT wireless infrastructure Manage network ticketing queue Design and implementation of new network systems QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Certification Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required. CCNP preferred. Palo Alto PCNSA preferred. Skill Requirements Palo Alto Firewall experience including IPSEC/SSL VPN Cisco routing hardware to include 7k and ASR series platforms Cisco switching hardware to include Nexus 3k/5k and Catalyst 3850 series platforms Experience with virtual routing (VRF) ,VPC and Fabric path - understand the technology, basic implementation and troubleshooting Routing protocols to include EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP General Scripting ability in one or more common languages (ex: Python, Perl, Powershell, etc.) in order to generate scripts for automated tasks, generate reports, parse logs, etc. Cisco wireless systems General Network troubleshooting (strong understanding of things like ARP, MAC address tables, dot1x, routing protocols and how to use/troubleshoot them) Ability to evaluate packet captures. Experience using Viavi distributed packet capture plus. Utilize monitoring tools to pro-actively detect, diagnose and resolve network performance issues. Experience with Science Logic, Solarwinds Orion, and Splunk a plus. Basic Windows and Linux server use and administration Cisco VoIP Work Experience Minimum of 3 years' experience in network administration (in excess of degree requirements).
