JOB TITLE: Navy Ship Maintenance Analyst OPNAV N83

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Provide analytical services support for N83 Ship Readiness Branch that provides innovative approaches to readiness products development, data gathering and requirements analysis.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Coordinate Navy Modernization Account (1B5B) and Fleet Support Account (1B2B) program - review and develop validated requirements for those accounts; represent OPNAV N83 equities at meetings regarding Navy ship procurement and modernization; operate the Surface Ship Reset Model to produce Overseas Contingency Operations funding requirement for Navy Reset during budget cycles
* Provide Navy Readiness Reporting Enterprise monitoring, updates, and executive reports (e.g. weekly and monthly and ad hoc reports to CNO, SECNAV and Congressional Staff)
* Identify readiness reporting discrepancies within the above mentioned readiness reports.
* Provide formal and informal training as needed to OPNAV N43 personnel regarding readiness reporting.
* Provide necessary extraction of data from Navy readiness reporting databases to support development of other readiness reports.
* Provide analysis of readiness trends and impacts to support Fleet operations based on knowledge of Fleet operations and Navy maintenance policy and procedures.
* Provide analysis of information from the Defense Readiness Reporting System-Navy (DRRS-N) family of systems, and reporting required by the Navy under the Chairmans Readiness System, including the Joint Forces Readiness Review (JFRR) and Quarterly Readiness Report for Congress (QRRC).
* Support assessment of quarterly Integrated Fleet Readiness Reports (IFFR) and Interim Monthly updates.
* Prior experience with Naval Ship (i.e. surface ships or aircraft carriers) maintenance or operations
* Action Officer experience on major Navy staff/OPNAV
* Previous experience with PPBE process, particularly with programming phase of PPBE and Navy POM development process
* Proficient using Microsoft Excel® or similar tools for simple modeling and data analysis for emergent tasking
* Ability to handle short-term deadlines

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret

* 10 years of professional work experience to include defense business analysis directly related to the PWS, modeling, and Navy maintenance policy.
* Prior experience with Naval Ship (i.e. surface ships or aircraft carriers) maintenance or operations
* Previous experience with PPBE process, particularly with programming phase of PPBE and Navy POM development process
* Proficient using Microsoft Excel® or similar tools for simple modeling and data analysis for emergent tasking
* Ability to handle short-term deadlines

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

* Requirements officer experience on major Navy staff/OPNAV
* Experience with Navy PPBE cycles
