Manages the company's firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems and software deployment tools. Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure. May research, evaluate, test, recommends communicate and implement new security software or devices. Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications. Provides information to management regarding the negative impact caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information. Provides recommendations on information assurance engineering standards, implementation dependencies, and changing information assurance related technologies. Provides recommendations on information assurance engineering standards, implementation dependencies, and changing information assurance related technologies. Supervises lesser-experienced information security professionals. Prepares evaluation reports. Recommends remedial action. Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent and five to seven years related experience.

ManTech is seeking an experienced Navy Computer Network Security Specialist/Instructor for our operations in San Diego, CA.

Overview:

Applicant will work with the ManTech IA/CND team to configure and maintain the virtualized network mobile training system and participate in the mobile training teams that are instructing U.S. Navy and other DoD personnel in initial training events for network security troubleshooting and advanced operation of the Host Based Security System (HBSS) aboard U.S. Navy and Military Sealift Command ships, and at various shore-based network installations worldwide. Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations may be extensive.

Conduct training requirements analysesInteract with government engineers and technical support personnelPrepare briefing presentationsPerform Job Task Analyses (JTAs) and other training Front-End Analyses (FEAs)Review/develop/update Navy training curricula

Mandatory Skills & Credentials:

Experienced with U.S. Navy network security policies and proceduresCertification as Navy Instructor (NEC 9502)Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and computer databasesAnalytical and Critical Thinking SkillsInterpersonal and People SkillsListening SkillsOral and Written Communication SkillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionOrganizational SkillsMUST have Security+ and IAT II certification in accordance with DoD 8570 requirementsRequires Bachelors degree (in Training/Development or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related (training, sales and/or technical) experience.

Additional Skills Preferred:

Active duty Navy experience with network security, especially the Host Based Security System (HBSS)Experience with Navy Shore based communications sites (e.g. NCTAMS, NTCS)Familiar with U.S. Navy training policies and proceduresClassroom instructor experience, preferably at a Center for Information Dominance Learning Site
