Your opportunity

Do you find yourself passionate about being at the center of a product with huge customer impact? Do you like creating innovative ways to collect large data sets for training AI systems or generating equivalent synthetic data? Excellent. Because in addition to writing code, you'll be deeply involved in helping add to ML discussions, conferring over core technology choices, and all other aspects of the engine that powers Scalyr. We're looking for these qualities:

* You're smart enough to work at top companies, but you're picky about finding the right role
* You have a lot of experience, but you also like to learn new things


* You enjoy working with smart people and have fun building something phenomenal

Your skills:

* Experience of at least 4+ years in Machine Learning or Computer Vision
* Preferably a 4-year degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related technical field
* Strong expertise in the field of machine learning to develop novel predictive models and/or algorithms
* Excellent knowledge of either Python or C++/C
* Ability to find the optimal balance between doing longer-term research and applying research results to production code
* Strong understanding of ML techniques such as CNNs, supervised and unsupervised learning, optimization techniques, etc
* Ability to both guide and accept guidance from team members
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Enjoys collaborating with other software engineering teams to integrate and scale solutions
* Experience with one or more of popular Deep Learning frameworks such as Caffe, TensorFlow, PyTorch

Nice-to-Haves:

* Experience with Linux, DevOps, and AWS tools
* Background of working with artificial intelligence, natural language processing/understanding systems
* Experience with MxNet or strong mathematics background and a keen interest to learn about these exciting new techniques
