About L3 Technologies

Job Description

L3 Space and Sensors Group (SSG) is seeking a mission analysis expert with experience in defining scenarios, measures of effectiveness and performance (MOEs and MOPs), and the analysis of simulation results for complex scenarios in multi-domain battle space environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in the simulation and architecture of System of System solutions for emerging US Department of Defense requirements and threat space environments.

L3 SSG' charter is to create advanced technology, explore innovative concepts, and field electronic system solutions for the Department of Defense (DOD) and intelligence agencies. We are accustomed to non-traditional requirements and provide turnkey engineering solutions that bring together an operator's understanding of the challenges of fielding advanced technology with rigorous systems engineering and system integration processes.

We are focused on advanced systems development in the areas of Air & Space Dominance, Communications, Electronic Warfare (EW), Cyber/ISR, and Weapons, as they relate to the DOD roadmap for confronting adversaries in a contested environment.

L3 SSG recently merged with L3 Advanced Programs, also a leader in the design, manufacture, and test of space, airborne and ground-based electro-optical subsystems and sensor systems for NASA, DoD, and commercial markets. We have also been an innovative leader for almost 30 years in the development of high-performance hardware for defense electronic systems and have developed some of the most advanced RF signal and image processing techniques, software, and hardware available anywhere, including characterization and identification of radar signals as they apply to advanced electronic warfare applications, hardware simulation of radar emissions, detection of targets in high-clutter environments, target tracking, LPI radar designs, and multi-sensor fusion.

Responsibilities:

Mission analysis and mission design for battle space applications across all domain missions. Develop or augment mission vehicle and sensor models, system models, and mission architectures that integrate current and envisioned systems, lead performance assessments and system effectiveness analyses, develop high-fidelity modeling and simulation representations for system operations, and validate models against operational prototypes and experiments. Candidate will be responsible for leading a small team in the development, conduct, and associated analyses of simulations. Some domestic travel required (est. 10 - 20%).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* At least 5 year's relevant work experience in mission simulation design and analysis.
* Experience evaluating vehicle, sensor, or weapon performance and survivability
* Electronic Warfare modeling and simulation experience

* Remote sensing and/or communication theory experience

* RF and/or EOIR system or mission-level modeling experience

* Knowledge of surface and airborne military systems, operations, and Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS)

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as a strategic, out-of-the-box thinker.
* Strong computer skills and scripting/programming experience is required
* Ability to document analysis results, write reports and present findings to audiences at varying technical levels
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Master's degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, or equivalent. Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.

Desired Qualifications:

* Experience with military modeling environments (Brawler, Suppressor, AFSIM, EADSIM, ESAMS, etc)
* Object Oriented programming experience, MATLAB preferred
