Job Description: Primary Purpose: Under general supervision develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based on documented requirements. Work individually or as part of a team. Duties and Responsibilities: Design and codes new software or modifies existing software to add new features Debug existing software and corrects defects Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments Follow established development processes Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards Develop or implements algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components Write or review software and system documentation Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers; analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigating problem areas Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design Design or implement complex databases or data repository interfaces/queries Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team products Confer with system engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specification are met Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures Perform other duties as required Consistent and reliable attendance required If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position Work is typically performed in an office environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment. Minimum Qualifications: Skills and Knowledge: Two or more (2+) years of experience as a software engineer Experience with software design and development Java or C++ experience working in a Linux environment Experience with configuration management systems Clearance: Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Clearance Required. Poly desired. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 2-4 years of related experience or a combination of education and related experience. Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications: N8:N9Skills and Knowledge: Javascript and web development experience Experience with SIGINT systems and data analysis, especially working with legacy processing software. Basic understanding of signal processing applications Experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity for the development of SIGINT systems LGS Innovations and its subsidiaries are wholly-owned subsidiaries of CACI International, Inc.
