Job Description

The Boeing company is looking for passionate Mid-Level Product Management Specialist to join the team in Bellevue, Washington who know how to define, de-risk and execute against a product vision. You will work to create, own, and continuously improve strategic and tactical plans for the product, while helping to enable product managers across the enterprise in modern and lean approaches to product development. You'll be building product in service of transformational change at Boeing as you engage our internal clients' management with discussions about methodologies, culture, and best practices.

This is a collaborative role that requires being able to work with internal clients and colleagues on co-located integrated product teams. The role demands strong product instincts, excellent communication skills, technical fluency, empathy, humility, an understanding of the product vs. project mindset, and a desire and ability to teach agile, lean startup, and user-centered design values, principles and practices.

A successful candidate balances delivery of products that create user and business value, enablement of the client teams they collaborate with, and contributions to the continued growth of the product management discipline.

Job Responsibilities:

Product Management

* Engage directly with the business and the development team on a daily basis.
* Help the business articulate their product strategy and vision and remain in close communication with stakeholders throughout the product development phase
* Actively manage & prioritize user stories and define acceptance criteria while enabling the team and shielding them from distractions.
* Skillfully bridge business goals, user needs and feasibility to design and ship product.

Consult

* Evangelize the principles of DTE's methodologies, processes, tools, and culture to drive transformational change.
* Pair daily with other product management and cross-functional team members.
* Work on a dynamic team of 6-12 co-located individuals supporting core Boeing products in 3-6 month engagements
* Engage directly with the business and the development team on a daily basis.

Build Culture

* Contribute to a learning environment and culture that promotes sharing product management knowledge within DTE.
* Work with other product managers within DTE to formalize the discipline of lean product management within DTE.
* Collaborate and drive a unified product management strategy across DTE sites.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

* The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


* 5+ years with product management experience and/or technical problem-solving skills


* 5+ years of experience working within a development environment using Agile methodologies.


* Experience in Agile, Kanban, Lean, automated testing and/or continuous integration work


* Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Lean, Kanban, etc.) and agile project management tools (JIRA, TFS, VersionOne, etc.)


* Proficient with JIRA or TFS


* Previous consulting experience



Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

* Experience with lean product management principles


* Demonstrated ability to lead a team through product discovery process, from project kickoff to delivery


* Track record of building product features founded in solid user research and validation


* Ability to lead from within a product team and support as a servant-leader


* Ability to quickly understand a specific domain and identify the trends and opportunities in that space


* Strong ability to teach others, mentor, and facilitate


* Ability to analyze systems and data sets to define and guide user story development


* Ability to define and prioritize product features to create lean MVPs


* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others and navigate complex decision making


* Facilitation skills a plus


* Background in user-centered design or software development a plus


* Experience with DevOps


* Experience with eXtreme Programming


* Experience working with design resources to ensure timely delivery of designs and assets to the development team


* Experience leading application development projects using AD&S


* Bachelor's Degree or Higher
