The Microcomputer Specialist I is primarily responsible for performing general tasks under minimal supervision, to support the hardware and software needs of microcomputer users; provides users with problem resolution regarding PC hardware and software problems; installs and configures complex computer hardware, peripherals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Answers user questions and resolves problems unable to be resolve by Service Center personnel related to both complex computer hardware and software i.e., Windows, 3270 emulation software, and telecommunications software at the user's desktop. Makes determination of problem and if unable to resolve makes recommendations to Senior Microcomputer Specialist as to a resolution.
* Installs and configures complex computer hardware, peripherals, which could include installation of single or multiple computers as required by project or user need while meeting appropriate deadlines.
* Researches, analyzes, and resolves basic hardware and OS problems, including contacting hardware and software vendors for support when necessary; makes recommendations to Senior Microcomputer Specialist regarding
