As Manager, Medical IT Network Risk, you will be responsible for the safety security and effectiveness during operation of the medical IT network by identifying and mitigating hazards that occur during the roll out phase and throughout the lifespan of the Medical IT Network (any network that contains medical devices). You will collaborate with users and maintainer and vendor of the network and various departments.

Develop and manage a Risk Management Plan and change release process that identifies potential hazards to the Medical IT Network assesses the severity of hazards from a safety effectiveness and data system security perspectives evaluates the probability of reoccurrence performs risk benefit analysis to determine the priority of risk and ensures risk control is implemented and verified for accuracy prior to all system go-live. Monitor effectiveness of and compliance with risk controls. Write policies incorporating risk management principles into network and device operations.

Provide analysis of risk benefit reports and provides a recommendation based on the overall residual risk against the health benefit from incorporate the medical device on the IT Network. Establish and maintains Risk-Management Responsibility Agreements with vendors of equipment on the Medical IT Network or contained in the network. Negotiate procures and maintains contractual terms conditions limitations and exclusions for new and renewal insurance contracts on behalf of Scripps its affiliates and closely related business organizations.

Additionally, you will report monitor and educate business executives on appropriate mitigation strategies and any unacceptable risk related to the Medical IT Network. Provide oversight regarding audit regulatory and risk management activities across functional areas such as the development and maintenance of regulatory documentation. Maintain all risk documentation and records related to the Medical IT- Network in a centralized shared location (Risk Management File). Audit for complete and current documentation. Direct the activities of others to support risk management activities such as risk reviews mitigation and monitoring.

This is a Salaried Manager position located in La Jolla.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

* Bachelors degree in Engineering Information Technology Information Security or equivalent.


* Five years of experience as a Biomedical Engineer or senior Biomedical Engineering Technician.


* Experience deploying and or managing Medical IT Networks.


* Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking with strong abilities in relationship management; in developing effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems; in project management in a cross-functional environment and in managing resources across enterprise boundaries to meet goals on multiple projects.


* Project management experience is required.



Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

* Networking security i.e. Comp TIA Security Sec or equivalent experience.
