What you'll be doing...

:Design, develop, unit test and implement web applications using Java, J2EE, SOAP, Ant, RESTful, HTML, CSS, JSON, JavaScript, and AJAX; design and develop applications using Play and Akka; implement new requirements or enhancements and fix production defects; take part in requirement discussions and subsequently provide the design and approach document for the development team; run performance and profiling tools. Assist in thread dump analysis; define system requirements and provide feedback on project limitations and capabilities; define performance requirements and interfaces; analyze user requirements to determine feasibility of design within time, cost and resource constraints; modify, debug and evaluate programs for functional areas, and work on new enhancements based on new user requirements; coordinate with testing teams to validate the functionality being developed; provide documentation for code written; assist with periodic code reviews of the application code.

What we're looking for...

Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer or Electronic Engineering, or a related field followed by 6 years of progressive experience developing applications using Java, J2EE, SOAP, Ant, RESTful, HTML, CSS, and JSON. Experience therein to include 3 years using JavaScript and AJAX. May be required to work at Verizon's office at One Verizon Way, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
