Overview:The Master Data Management Steward is the "Producing" Data Steward for all centrally managed "Master Data". This means that they "produce" (i.e. enter) this critical data into the systems that support the business based on information received from "Defining" Data Stewards throughout the Company. The "Defining" Data Stewards are the subject matter experts throughout the Company who are accountable for "defining" (i.e. determining) the values of these data attributes.

The Master Data Management Steward will maintain a broad familiarity with the business and the data so as to be able to detect any significant anomalies (i.e. errors) in the information received from the Defining Data Stewards.

Job Description:Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Receive requests from the user community for changes to, or creation of master data records, and to manage the requests through a formal process of validation and approval.
* Coordinate with the user community to ensure correctness and completeness of data contained in requests.
* Assist the Data Governance Manager in the definition of certain company data standards and processes as well as being able to introduce applicable national and Federal standards where appropriate.
* Adhere to these standards and processes, dealing with exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
* Provide data integrity oversight through sustained familiarity with the Operations business processes and the data that supports them.
* Indentify anomalies or inconsistencies in existing master data through documented business processes, visual analysis and system-oriented "watchdog" reports and deliver exception based reporting for department management.
* Assist the Data Governance Manager in pro-actively monitoring and analyzing all master data files for continuous improvements on the cleanliness of data.
* Coordinate changes to data in other departments that is impacted as a result of standardization, elimination of duplicates, changes to specifications etc.
* Communicate to the user community changes to master data files.



Educational and/or Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or experience equivalent to education
* 3 - 5 years relevant IT experience
* Experience working as a team member, while also willing to work independently to achieve goals
