As part of the Labs and Tech Services (L&TS), the selected candidate will be the Simulation Operations Engineer in the Manned Tactical Simulator (MTS) venue during integration, verification periods, dry runs and actual events. This individual will serve as the Simulator Operations Engineer for both Virtual Cockpit (VC) events and Operational Flight Program (OFP) events. This individual will also be responsible for monitoring, detecting and diagnosing problems during simulation runs. They will conduct scenario and regression testing of the simulation software and hardware prior to an event. Other responsibilities would be to setup, operate, and assist customers with Radio communications and GCI stations. Communicate with customers prior to and during events to develop and/or modify scenarios to meet mission objectives. This individual will work with the designated event lead to determine all event requirements as well as act as liaison during event planning meetings to provide details on simulator status and capabilities. They will participate in after-event debriefs to ensure all problems and improvements have been identified. They will keep track of simulator deficiencies during events and draft Software Product Anomaly Reports (SPARs) as required utilizing Dimensions after the event.

Candidates must exhibit excellent problem-solving skills, be a team player, possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills, and be able to adjust work schedule periodically to support program activities.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

Direct experience supporting or knowledge of development laboratories and Man in The Loop (MITL) real-time simulation environments.

Experience in providing user/customer support.

Experience with configuration control of lab hardware and software.

Experience with planning, coordinating, executing, and reporting user tests and operations.

Experience with performing post event data processing.

Extensive technical and troubleshooting skills related to lab hardware, systems and software.

Experience with aircraft hardware, electronic interfaces, projection/display systems, audio systems, and/or mechanical assemblies.
