Job Description

As a Manager, Technical Content, you will be managing a team of content editors that is responsible for Facebook's APIs content and developer news on developers.facebook.com (http://developers.facebook.com/). The content team designs, drafts, and edits, and improve technical docs, tutorials, playbooks, and presentations with the purpose of building awareness around Facebook Marketing technologies among developer communities. Your primary responsibility will be to drive the team to make the content on the site as amazing as possible. This means you will be supporting the team's output by driving the team's direction, providing mentorship, developing team projects, and working with cross-functional stakeholders. In addition to leading the team, you will also be responsible for drafting and editing content.

Our ideal candidate has prior experience mentoring and helping people with their career development, enjoys working with people, teams, and leaders across various organizations, can demonstrate a proven track record of planning and creating content, including content for user interfaces and tools, and versatility to thrive in a flat fast-moving organization that uses light-weight processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage and be accountable for team's output



Produce high-quality technical content (API docs, tutorials, playbooks, and presentations)

Stay hands-on as a content editor when needed

Set direction and vision and provide mentorship

Optimize and simplify operations, and tools for publishing technical documents

Aligning priorities and projects with cross-functional stakeholders

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical writing or related field



3+ years experience as a technical writer manager

10+ years working with technical content for developers

Experience with project management
