Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with a proven track record of developing and shipping high quality products to come join us in Facebook's AR/VR division to lead the Oculus Browser team. The team is responsible for one of the most used applications in the Oculus ecosystem, leading the industry in developing and implementing web standards for AR/VR, and providing web technologies as a service to other VR applications. Ultimately, you will lead this team in imagining and building what the future of the web will be like on AR/VR devices, for both users and developers.

You will be responsible for managing and maintaining a high productivity, high impact team and contributing to growth and hiring. The role offers a huge scope opportunity since it encompasses one of our most popular applications, standards and industry collaboration, a large developer platform and ecosystem, and deep integration into the operating system and other components of the Oculus platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage and set technical direction for the Oculus Browser team.



Make key strategic hires to enable the Oculus Browser team to deliver on key goals.

Engage in and support emerging web standards in both the W3C and Khronos.

Set the bar for engineering excellence and testability and drive overall quality.

Inform and prioritize the strategic and tactical roadmaps for the Oculus Browser team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* B.S. in Comp Sci/Comp Engineering or equivalent experience.



2+ years of experience managing teams that build and maintain shipping products.

4+ years of experience in C++/Java/C# or equivalent systems programming language.

Experience developing systems level software in C/C++ or similar systems level software languages.

Demonstrated track record of shipping products to market.

Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional environments.

Demonstrated experience building components and managing expectations for partners.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience with the Android operating system.



Experience building applications or frameworks for VR.

Experience with Java and/or JavaScript.

Experience with computer graphics, GPU programming, and audio processing.

Experience developing and integrating with web browser engines (Chromium/Blink, Webkit, EdgeHTML, etc.).
