Role Summary:GE is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineering Manager to lead a team of QA engineers to develop our Universal Viewer flagship product for radiology and cardiology imaging. Our engineers innovate to improve the quality of patient care and to reduce healthcare cos

Essential Responsibilities:

Lead a team of QA engineers responsible for our medical device software test strategy

Engage product owners and customers to understand clinical workflows and quality expectations

Provide hands-on support to your team in meeting program deliverables and quality goals

Manage test automation program to deliver continuous test for regression and new features

Manage test suite to control test case expansion while ensuring coverage, release over release

Implement configuration management of infrastructure, environments, and test data

Establish quality metrics to measure progress against goals and release readiness

Drive continuous improvement in terms of increased quality and reduced costs

Coach and support team members through their technical and professional development

Communicate effectively both within immediate team and across GE leadership

Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)

A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software engineering

OR Master's degree with 6 years of experience

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be willing to work out of our office located at 500 West Monroe Street in Chicago, Illinois

Must be willing to travel up to 15%

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, and Software Design Patterns

Demonstrated software development experience using Object Oriented languages such as Java, C#, or C++ and IDEs such as Eclipse or Visual Studio

Experience with web services (e.g. REST, SOAP, WSDL), microservices, and cloud applications

Experience with SQL Server and Sybase, SQL programming, and stored procedure development

Experience with Behavior Driven Development or Acceptance Driven Testing with tools such as JUnit, NUnit, JBehave, Cucumber, and/or SpecFlow

Exposure to defect management, configuration management, and Agile tools such as HP Quality Center/ALM, ClearQuest, Perforce, ClearCase, Rally, and JIRA

Experience practicing Agile methodologies, including Scrum

Experienced in providing oversight and coaching - shows ability to effectively delegate work

Demonstrated experience breaking down problems and estimating time for development tasks

Ability to influence and build direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas

Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage leadership with confidence and clarity

Experienced in working with global teams, including time-zone flexibility
