Job Description

Manager of BI Engineering, Decision Sciences (3Q Digital; Chicago, Illinois): The Manager of BI Engineering, Decisions Sciences role will partner with key internal (intra-team and cross-disciplinary) stakeholders to implement automated reporting deliverables and work with our broader team to contribute to and evolve our automation and reporting services. The Manager of BI Engineering will support the team in development work by unifying multiple data sources and evolving our process to create and maintain reporting and analytical tools. Additionally, they will act as subject matter expert and be a partner to our internal teams. The Manager of BI Engineering will be responsible for executing business intelligence initiatives that support analysis and reporting for internal and external stakeholders. He or she will work with the development team to map data sources to our database, develop SQL reporting views to consolidate dimensions and metrics across tables, link the reporting view to a variety of visualization tools, and customize the reporting templates to meet the client teams' needs. Additionally, this role will require the person to adapt to changing BI technologies (data processing, data visualization, database management). Specific job duties include: work closely with BI teammates, the Tech team, the Decision Sciences team, and the client services department to assess data transfer, storage, manipulation, and visualization needs; lead projects and contribute to the evolution of processes, working with the team as well as independently with the goal of driving efficiency; understand the marketing data ingestion, storage, manipulation, and visualization cycle that 3Q uses to deliver custom work and develop company-wide templates; build tools that automate new and existing tasks leveraging 3Q's data tools while building new data processing best practices; manage creation, implementation, validation, and ongoing support of data transfer processes, data visualization tools, and recurring reports; partner with the tech team as an expert on data transfer and data storage; serve the client team as an expert on internal data transfer and visualization best practices; grow credibility with internal teams by exceeding expectations and delivering valuable tools; and develop and refine documentation around onboarding and usability.

Minimum requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing, or related field or its equivalent, plus 3 years of technical experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing, or a related field or its equivalent, plus 5 years of technical experience. Required Skills: 3 years of experience with Snowflake, MS SQL Server, Azure, Redshift, MySQL; 3 years of experience developing custom SQL queries; 3 years of experience with data viz tools Tableau, Excel, Google Sheets, Mode, and Looker; 3 years of experience collecting/storing data with SSIS, Matillion, Secure Storage (sFTP, S3); ability to manage multiple tasks to completion within established deadlines; ability to innovate with strong problem solving and technical skills; and understanding of the digital analytics and marketing landscape.
