Job Description

Connection has a fantastic opportunity in Schaumburg, IL. We are looking for a Manager, IT Services Project management. This is a full time permanent opportunity with immediate start.

The Manager, Project Management is responsible for managing the team of (Technical Services Group) TSG project managers and project coordinators within the PMO team. This team has membership that spans multiple offices as well as remote project management resources. The Manager, Project Management ensures adherence to the prescribed project lifecycle methodology by outlining and communicating the project management methodology to the project management team and developing a governance model to monitor results. The Manager, Project Manager monitors the project portfolio to ensure successful project delivery across a wide range of technologies and project size types. The Manager, Project Management will also provide first-level escalation support for project issues with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Details:

* Monitors the project health and risk profiles for all active projects across the project portfolio to ensure successful delivery
* Manages the project portfolio by implementing governance processes
* Creates and distributes performance reports
* Oversees portfolio of projects and project lifecycles through project managers or directly as a project manager as required.
* Provides support and guidance to the team of project managers and project coordinators on project management skills, techniques, concepts.
* Creates and communicates team portfolio and status reports
* Manages key service delivery projects as required
* Manages team of project managers and coordinators, providing guidance, support and administering employee policies and procedures related to time management, performance management, compensation, and staff development.
* Develops PM training programs to ensure project management knowledge is reinforced within the team
* Works with HR on recruitment of top talent
* Works with operations to ensure procedures are in place to effectively complete projects.
* Continually identifies and implements improvements with the project management methodology and associated governance models
* Continually review project portfolio to identify opportunities for improved project management delivery.
* Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience
* Project Management Professional (PMP) -- A Must
* Process Improvement experience
* Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills with ability to create complex spreadsheets using formulas, including v-lookup, and pivot tables
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills are a must
* 25% Travel.
