Job overview and responsibilities:

Within this Manager-IT role at United Airlines; the incumbent will be responsible for multiple projects impacting the Customer Technology Platforms (CTP): Travel and Operations services. Individual will be part of the Strategy and Planning team within Travel & Ops, ensuring that their team delivers on commitments- on time and with quality. Responsible and accountable for day-to-day supervision of developers within their specific functional area, the Manager-IT and team will work on enterprise projects while making sure that changes to CSL and non-CSL services meet the enterprise objectives. The Manager- IT will interface with Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts, across multiple business and IT teams, to ensure work items are properly groomed to manage delivery expectations of the developers. Incumbent will also maintain roadmaps, compare actual hours to estimates, and report project status to upper-level management.

Required:

* Bachelor's degree, preferably in STEM/Business; or equivalent experience, education or training.
* Solid knowledge of product management best practices, functional design, and application delivery methodology
* Strong multi-tasker; proven experience handling multiple roles and projects simultaneously
* Experience working with cross-functional, global teams to deliver commitments on-time and on-budget
* Excellent analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills
* Attention to detail
* Positive attitude
* Strong planning & organizational skills
* Strong communication skills - verbal, written, and presentation
* Ability to travel up to 10%
* Prior airline experience
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, and TFS
* 5 years applicable experience in the design/administration/support of four or more platforms; or 3 -5 years equivalent in dept experience in the above related areas.
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Desired:

* Knowledge of Project and Product Management methodology
* Project and Product Management experience
* Experience with both Agile and Waterfall protocols.
* Management/Supervisory experience.
