Job Summary:

NanoString is a growing Biotech technology company with challenging and complex support needs for a robust, on-premise infrastructure. The Information Systems Engineer Manager leads the Systems Administration / Engineering NanoString team with two other group managers and is responsible for the design and operations of IT infrastructure including network, servers, storage and a variety of corporate software and related systems. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, servers, storage, and communication links as well as managing the team to help resolve business critical systems issues. This individual will work with other department groups and management to strategize infrastructure solutions for complex requirements.

Essential Duties:

* Manage and Lead Team Systems Admin/Engineering Role
* Excellent communication and ability to work with Business partners
* Works effectively on a team with fellow Direct and Manager Systems Engineers and colleague IT Technicians and Business Analysts
* Works on specific technology projects to support a complex R&D environment and Manufacturing
* Design and support virtualized infrastructure
* Design and support disaster recovery infrastructures
* Manage Cisco switches and Microsoft Remote Access technologies
* Optimize and support backup and recovery systems
* Develop scripts to automate daily job functions
* SQL Server development
* Design and support cloud infrastructure in a complex data storage environment
* Establish dashboards, metrics, and reports of systems infrastructure performance
* Create and maintain outage and system alerts for proactive and reactive responses
* Document workflows, processes, procedures, and configurations of infrastructure services
* Act as a final escalation point for complex IT systems issues
* Work with a wide range of complex and new technologies
* Assist in managing certain vendor and enterprise agreements
* Evaluate and assist in the selection of IT Infrastructure management software
* Work with Software and Cloud hosting vendors on design and IT roadmap initiatives

Requirements:

* 8+ years of Systems Design, Implementation infrastructure administration and engineering experience.
* Experience with Network, Systems and storage infrastructure architecture strongly desired (on-prem and Cloud).
* Ability to work as oversight and team managing lead for Systems Administrators/Engineering group (Management experience desired.
* Professional experience with the following:

* Veeam Backup and Replication
* Public Key Infrastructure

* Enterprise-class hardware from Cisco and HP
* Microsoft Enterprise Agreements and VLSC
* Microsoft Azure Active Directory
* Active Directory Federation Services
* AWS S3 and EC2
* Linux server administration (CentOS specifically)
* Familiarity working in a regulated environment (ISO, FDA Validation, SOX Compliance)
* Biotech and/or technical instrument manufacturing knowledge or experience
