KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Security Monitoring to join our Digital Business Transformation organization. This opportunity is open to internal candidates from all KPMG US locations and external candidates interested in being based in one of the cities listed within this posting.

Responsibilities:

* Monitor and respond to detected threats and potential vulnerabilities received by alert or proactively hunted
* Serve as a subject matter professional for security monitoring, incident response triaging, and incident response related tools
* Engage in our use case development lifecycle to improve alert fidelity and detection capabilities
* Develop incident response procedures for new use cases to ensure best practices are consistently followed
* Drive automation and orchestration to reduce incident resolution time and improve response processes
* Provide insight regarding plausible threats and determine the risk they pose to the organization

Qualifications:

* Minimum five years of Security monitoring experience and incident response activities; preferably within a professional services firm or similar environment, experience with IT process definition and / or improvement.
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
* Understanding of network and system intrusion and detection methods, examples of related technologies include Splunk,, SOC, Next Generation Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP), Security information and event management (SIEM), hacking tools techniques and procedures
* Experience with malware analysis, endpoint lateral movement detection methodologies and host forensic tools
* Understanding of network protocol analysis, public key infrastructure, SSL, Microsoft Windows and Active Directory, Linux, open source software, scripting, SQL, and software programming
* US Citizenship is required
