In the AR/VR organization at Facebook, we are an AI organization building experiences for communication, contextual social coordination, and sharing. The team is behind M Suggestions on Messenger and Portal. We're focused on building human-like, personalized understanding of the relationships between entities in the world and the user. We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with a proven track record of developing and shipping high quality ML-powered applications to join us! As an Engineering Manager supporting Knowledge Graph efforts within AR/VR, you'll coordinate and manage a team responsible for building the core ML modeling pipelines needed to build a comprehensive understanding of the world, combined with Facebook's social graph, to deliver great user experiences. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer and manager with a background in machine learning, knowledge graphs, or data science; and is passionate about the future of AR/VR and contextual assistance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage and support an engineering team responsible for foundational machine learning systems that build Facebook's Knowledge Graph



Set technical direction and define success metrics across Facebook-wide teams

Identify opportunities to share technology with AI efforts at Facebook

Identify and manage partnership opportunities with internal cross-functional partners

Partner with product visionaries to deliver innovative user experiences in AR/VR and beyond

Evangelize technical solutions, frameworks, and best practices across the team and org

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* 5+ years of work experience as a software engineer in machine learning, knowledge graphs, or data science



5+ years of experience directly managing a team of software engineers

Experience shipping multiple products across various platforms

Experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management

Demonstrated experience interfacing with other internal and external teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
