Job overview and responsibilities

The Manager of Cyber Crisis Response Management team is responsible for ensuring the company is ready to respond to cyber security incidents at any time, managing a team of Crisis Response professionals, and leading the company through critical efforts to remediate cyber attacks and computer intrusions. They are a key component of the cyber security posture of the company and they work to keep leadership advised of current incident response engagements as well as past engagement performance, as well as keep the enterprise prepared for difference cyber crisis scenarios.

* Manage a team of crisis response professionals ensuring maximum availability of incident response assets at any time
* Create novel crisis incident response exercises and develop plans to regularly increase the difficulty of those exercises
* Engage with leadership throughout the IT division and business organizations to continuously enhance incident response plans
* Provide vision and innovation for the incident response function at United, expanding the capabilities of the company year over year
* Enhance the awareness of United employees of worldwide cyber security threats through technical campaigns

Required

* A Bachelor's degree in a related field or any combination of equivalent education, work experience, and formal training that allows the candidate to meet the requirements of the position
* People management and leadership skills
* Understanding of complex process flows and decision matrices
* Effective Program Management skills
* Expertise in relationship building with partners
* Exemplary interpersonal communications (both written and verbal) skills
* Ability to lead by example and influence change
* Good understanding of Information Security standards, frameworks, and best practices
* Experience working with IT infrastructure and development teams
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship;
* Candidate must currently have or meet the requirements to obtain a US Government SECRET security clearance;
* Domestic and international travel up to 20% and 24/7 emergency on-call required;
* Successful completion of one or more interviews required to meet position qualifications;
* Reliable, punctual attendance at United's World Headquarters in Chicago is an essential function of the position;"

Preferred

* A computer-science or cyber security related BS or BA degree
* CISSP and/or relevant SANS certifications are preferred
* People management skills;
* Understanding of complex process flows and decision matrices;
* Effective Program Management skills;
* Knowledge of basic incident response fundamentals;
* Exemplary interpersonal communications (both written and verbal) skills;
* The ideal candidate possesses three of the below experience items:
* Two years experience as a people manager and team leader;
* Four years experience with cyber security incident response;
* Two years experience leading table top and wargame exercises;
* Demonstrated success at program management and managing consulting efforts;
* Four years with building incident response plans and defining process inputs and outputs;"
