Amazon Connect is a highly disruptive cloud-based contact center that enables businesses to deliver engaging, dynamic, and personal customer service experiences. Amazon Connect is the result of the ten years of development that went into building the tools Amazon uses to provide its award winning customer service at massive scale and launching it as a publicly available AWS service. Our service greatly simplifies the process of creating a contact center by integrating public switched telephony network (PSTN) services in our offering and pricing plan. Behind the scenes, we establish, manage, and cultivate relationship with multiple Tier 1 telecom carriers to build a highly available, highly scalable, world class telecom infrastructure that leverages the latest AWS technology.

Public telephony network is a notoriously outdated complex patchwork of systems and full of manual operations. You will be leading a team whose goal is to automate this manual world of telephony. Imagine a world where we can call APIs to create telephony peering, increase circuit capacity, purchase phone numbers from any country in the world, and port any phone number to your network. In this role, you will be the face of Amazon Connect technology team to telecom carriers.

As the technology leader for the Carrier Technology team, you will:

* Lead and manage a team of exceptional engineers with deep knowledge of telecom protocols and public telephony network.
* Maintain operational excellence and meet system availability goals
* Build innovative processes and tools to automate and abstract public telephony network's complexities.
* Manage capacity scaling and connectivity strategy for a global telephony network, matching the size of an international telecom carrier.
* Represent Amazon Connect on telecom technology and operational discussions with vendors, customers, and partners.
