Role SummaryThe TV Technician will keep our sports and entertainment television and internet production and post-production systems operating at optimum condition. As a member of our Technical Operations and Engineering group, the TV Technician will primarily provide live-event support at Madison Square Garden, but will also be required to perform preventive and corrective maintenance and provide user support for all ENG/EFP, production and post-production systems used to acquire and produce Specific Functions/Activities Summary

* First line of defense and troubleshooting when an issue is reported• Candidate's primary duties will focus around setup and production of live events at Madison SquareGarden - facilitating, managing, and troubleshooting all interfaces between mobile production unitsand interconnects to the Arena, MSGN's production and post-production facilities, and transmissionproviders• When no live events are happening at Madison Square Garden, work will be assigned to supportMSGN's production and post-production environment where candidate will be expected to participatein diagnosis and repair of all systems and escalation to engineering management where necessary• Expected to provide thorough reporting of any actions taken or observations made in the course ofcarrying out daily functions• Responsible for preventive maintenance and daily walkthroughs• Support project work, as assigned. Includes but not limited to; terminations, cabling, various labelingefforts, blue-lining, testing, moving and installation equipment and racks, etc… when applicable.• Assist with regular workspace and storage cleanup and organization, garbage disposal, as well asassignments around special projects, as required.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent military training preferred• Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shifts as part of a rotating schedule• Must be a team player and able to take on the role of leader or team member depending on what isneeded for each task, project or assignment• Candidate must be detail oriented and able to quickly assess a problem, determine near-term andlong-term resolutions and follow through to final resolution• At least 5 Years of proven success as a television technical maintenance engineer supporting liveproduction and mission critical systems.• Must demonstrate strong troubleshooting and configuration skillset for network based systemsincluding but not limited to network switching and routing infrastructure, data storage systems,servers and workstations (Windows, Mac OS and Linux based systems), specifically in a liveenvironment.• System level diagnosis and repair experience with (but not limited to) ENG/EFP cameras, videoproduction switchers, audio mixing consoles, intercom systems, multi-rate routing systems andserver-based technologies• Must exhibit functional knowledge of electronic and television-specific test equipment;• Proficiency reading and updating AutoCAD or engineering drawings• Significant system installation/project experience.• Membership in SMPTE, IEEE; SBE certification (or equivalent) is a plus.
