The Mainframe Operations Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day operations and ensuring highly responsive performance of the mainframe infrastructure which supports critical high-transaction applications on two (2) production IBM z-series mainframes and 2 DR systems.

The z/OS production systems are online and batch using primarily DB2 and CICS.

Specific responsibilities of this position require providing leadership and management to ensure the team delivers efficient and cost-effective provision of mainframe services including:

1.Engineer, install, maintain and customize IBM z-series or later processors running the z/OS operating system in a Parallel Systems Complex (Sysplex) environment to support 24x7x365 availability. Expert knowledge is required for core z/OS functions, mainframe network products, and related subsystems.

2.Provide configuration, implementation and maintenance support for z/OS-related ISV products and apply latest maintenance concurrent with the z/OS maintenance cycle.

3.Maintain an up-to-date mainframe knowledge base to include Mainframe Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), infrastructure logical and physical diagrams, system configuration baselines, implementation plans, back-out plans, system recovery plans, maintenance plans, system upgrades, off hours callout and escalation procedures, and a record of all system changes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor degree (experience considered in lieu of degree)- Minimum 9 years' relevant experience
* Must have at least three years' experience leading operations in an IBM z-series mainframe environment.
* Must have five or more recent years of demonstrated advanced, hands-on, experience with IBM z-series mainframes and associated software.
